Mass media play a crucial role in health and crisis communication. Much of today’s society-level communication happens through mass media channels, such as television, radio, newspapers. Increasingly, communication among individuals or between organizations and their supporters or clients occurs through new media and social media, such as mobile phones, social networking sites, micro blogging sites, and others.
